Train the Trainer: Build the Skills to Create Change From Within
Want to disseminate the information to a wider service or organisation? Want to follow up a training session we have already delivered to help implement some of the approaches?

The interest, the motivation, the momentum can really swell up after one of our talks or training sessions, so having a plan on how to capture and hold on to that is really important.

We introduce --> We train --> YOU embed

Start the conversation

Our introduction sessions create the perfect foundation of evidence base, understanding and guidance.

Identify motivated individuals

We can train a group of motivated individuals to confidently facilitate the approaches and future sessions that matter to your organisation or service.

Disseminate, implement, and grow

Your trainers (or Civility Champions) take the learning back into their teams and help make it part of everyday practice

What could your programme include?

Every organisation is different, so there isn't a single Train the Trainer programme that will work everywhere. We can work with you to understand what you want to change, the conversations you want people to feel more confident having, and the skills you want to build within your teams.

From there, we can develop a programme around one particular approach, or bring several together to create something tailored to your organisation. The aim is to give your trainers practical approaches they understand, believe in and feel confident taking back into their own teams.

How does it work?

We build the programme around what you're trying to achieve.
Train the Trainer isn't simply about giving people a set of slides and asking them to deliver them. We want your trainers to understand the ideas, experience the approaches themselves and feel confident creating meaningful conversations with others.

1. We start with you

Before the training, we'll talk with your leads about what you want to achieve, what is already happening in your organisation and where you would like to create change. This helps us shape the programme around your people and priorities.

2. Experience the learning

Your trainers first experience the content as participants. They'll explore the evidence, ideas and practical approaches themselves – because it's much easier to facilitate a conversation when you understand why it matters, not just what is on the slides.

3. Learn how to facilitate it

We then look behind the training itself. We'll explore how to introduce the ideas, encourage participation and create safe, curious and compassionate conversations, particularly when discussing behaviour, culture or experiences that may feel difficult to talk about.

4. Practise and build confidence

There will be opportunities to try things out, facilitate parts of the learning, work through scenarios and learn from each other. The emphasis is on building confidence rather than expecting people to become polished trainers overnight.

5. Take it back to your organisation

Finally, we'll think about what happens next: where the learning will be used, who you want to reach and how your trainers can be supported to keep the conversation going.
